The story behind the song:

Music is everywhere” is a phrase we often hear, but Alicia and Franklin wanted to bring it to life through a song that truly reflects that idea. In this original Orff arrangement, students engage in body percussion, instrument playing, singing, and movement to reinforce the message that music exists all around us.

They originally wrote Music Is Everywhere in 2022 for Alicia’s Orff ensemble, who performed it at the prestigious Schermerhorn Symphony Center. The students delivered an incredible performance and were honored with a standing ovation from the audience — a moment they will never forget. Although they had intended to release the song soon after, life became busy, and the project was temporarily set aside.

This year, Alicia revisited the arrangement, teaching it once again to her ensemble. and Franklin had the opportunity to visit her classroom to coach the students in preparation for their final performance. To Franklin’s surprise and delight, the students spontaneously began performing Music Is Everywhere! Their energy and enthusiasm were contagious — it was fantastic to witness.

Franklin recorded a short clip of the students’ performance and shared it on social media. By the next morning, they were overwhelmed with messages from teachers expressing their excitement and asking how they could perform the song with their own students. It was clear that Music Is Everywhere had found a new life and was ready to reach more classrooms.
