This is the riveting story of the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra. When Hitler persecuted Jewish musicians in the countries he invaded, Polish violinist Bronislaw Huberman overcame incredible obstacles to move over 1000 of them to Palestine with the vision of forming an orchestra. Toscanini, a strong anti-fascist, agreed to direct the first concert which was sold out, with many hundreds more thronged outside to hear.
