Tevye (Topol), a milkman in pre-revolutionary Russia, is trying to keep his traditions in place but his three daughters have minds of their own.  And, Russia is on the brink of revolution and the Jews are becoming unwelcome in villages.  This haunting, funny, rousing, and throughtful musical, based on the stories of Shalom Aleichem stays with us and causes us to both sing the favorites and ponder history.
