Celebrate Earth Day school-wide. Younger kids can sing the songs accompanied by the older ones on recorder and Orff instruments. Involve the language arts classes reading--and writing--the poetry. Art classes can create the sets for the elements--earth, water, fire, and air. Add signing, movement and props.
This suite of six songs features unison, two- and three-part singing, speech ostinati, instrumental accompaniments, poetry, interpretive signing, recorder playing, and movement that celebrate the elements of nature. Present the entire suite in your next performance or use each song on its own. Gr. 2-6.
