Item No: 5446

$39.95

Directed by Jim Brown.
As soloist and as a member of The Weavers, Seeger ushered in the folk music revival in the 1960's.Believing that the power of song should not be used just to forget one's troubles, but also to help to understand and to do something about your troubles, he used the power of song to protest unjust policies, laws and social conventions. For his beliefs, he was blacklisted and banned from TV for 17 years.

Hear from Tom Paxton, Bonnie Raitt, Bob Dylan, Arlo Guthrie and others who know and respect Seeger. But most of all, hear Pete himself talk about the power of music and how it changes things.

Even now he lives with his wife of 60 years in the cabin he built, hauling water and chopping wood. He was green long before it was cool. Bonus of 5 Seeger family films, including How to Play the 5-String Banjo, which he produced when he realized that there were no banjo methods available.
Don't miss this direct and moving portrait of a powerful music hero.
